Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend? I have grand plans to catch up on Nashville, Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder, plus the usual weekend errands and food prep.

These might be the most feminine weights on the planet, and yes, they are mine. (A $5 Target purchase for at-home barre workouts. Also…they’re hot pink. How could I resist?!) I’m also really excited to have a paper planner for 2015 to keep track of appointments, training, and tasks. I’ll say – 2014 has been a good year, a complex one, but I’m ready for a fresh start in 2015. More on this once December rolls around and I’ve finalized some goals!

What I’ve been liking lately:

  • If you read any book this weekend, read Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. I recently packed up four bags of items to donate and two bags of items to sell on Poshmark or through Fashion Project. I’ve reduced clutter and chaos throughout my house and I feel more motivated about working and healthy living as a result of reading this book. Pretty crazy. Even if you read of simplicity and minimalism books and blogs (like I do), I think it’s a great read.
  • I ordered these Athleta x Polartec Ski Line running tights (not an affiliate link) and they arrived yesterday. I’m in love. They’re very warm and cozy – perfect for what looks to be a chilly turkey trot next week.
  • Serial. There’s a reason everyone’s obsessed – it is so. good. I’ve been going to the gym every day just so I can listen to it. (I cut a deal with myself that I can only listen to it if I cross-train.) Right now I’m on episode 3 and trying to draw it out for as long as possible.
  • Nora has mentioned Fitness Blender a few times, and I finally got around to trying some workouts this week. HOLY SMOKES. These are really good, they’re free, and you can search based on your needs. Need a high-intensity, core-focused workout that doesn’t require equipment? You can find it. I’ve tried a bunch of different workouts in the past – Zuzka Light, Kayla Itsines, and some others – but I love the Fitness Blender videos and workouts. I find myself pushing myself, which rarely happens if I’m not in a class.
